The Kiss

The Kiss

You can find this unusual statue on the corner of Earlsfort Terrace with Hatch Street. I say unusual because you don’t see many public displays of affection (AKA ‘kissing’) in the streets of Dublin. Just joking.

It’s a work by Rowan Gillespie. Irish sculptor from Blackrock, Dublin.

The Kiss – Rowan Gillespie

The statue looks bigger in the picture but it’s actually not that big.
Taller than me anyway (I know, that’s not very difficult)

Chicken Pastry

Spotted at Tesco.

At the beginning I was surprised to find stuff in the wrong place but it’s quite common here.

Specially common to find this happening in the sweets section. At the last minute they change a yoghurt for a chocolate bar.

spainish?

Spotted online before applying for a job

One of the first words I learned to say in English was the name of my native language (same as the adjective for people born in my country). So it was easy to spot this one.

I don’t know if that is what annoyed me more or the fact that is in lower case while French is in capital letters.

Google search for 'spainish'

After a google search I realised that it was quite a common mistake, with more than 10 million results.

Anyway, they didn’t follow up with my application. I hope it was nothing to do with my reply, “I’m not fluent in spainish but I am Spanish native speaker if that’s of interest’.
